Plan for May 11th - May 17th

Hello families and students

Here is our plan for the week. You can find more details for each assignment on the Google Classroom.

Sentences for Words of the week	NEW WORDS 5 new words of the week 5 color words
Beach story Picture Prompt	Use the picture on the classroom to write a story -remember that stories have a problem -use the checklist on the assignment for how to be in the green
Raz-Kids **New Books**	Read AND record yourself reading I love hearing the students try to sound out new words!
Epic Books	Ø  Read AND respond with writing on the Google Doc posted
OPTIONAL Spelling Game	Boom cards online They show a picture and you try to spell it
Math
Measurement Scavenger Hunt	Go around your house and find 5 things that are bigger than your hand and 5 things smaller than your hand. Find 5 things longer than a spoon and 5 things shorter than a spoon. Make a list or draw and label these things
Subtraction Practice	Continue to practice your subtraction strategies on a Google Doc online.
Prodigy	Focus on addition

Inquiry
Science	Parts of a plant -watch the video of me explaining   -do the activity labelling the parts and answering the questions after
Science	How humans use plants -watch the video about how we need and use plants -answer the questions about the video
OPTIONAL Science	Drawing about Earth Day
